Misty grew up in Cerulean City gym with her three sisters and her parents. The Tomboyish Mermaid was soon only left with her sisters to raise her, though, after their parents abandoned them because gym responsibilities were "too hard". This left her only family to be her three sisters, who taught her how to swim and how to take care of a gym. They raised water pokemon together, and she fell in love. Upon her thirteenth birthday, like most kids of coming age, she ventured out into the open to learn more about and catch more water pokemon. Afterall, she wanted to be the best water type trainer there ever was... maybe even like Lorelei/Prime of the Elite Four! She would train until she was the very best, until she could show her sisters that she was better. That, even though she may not have the poise and experience her siblings did, she could one day take over Cerulean Gym and surpass even them. And, no one would be able to convince her that such a thing was not her calling.[break][break]But, she never expected him to come along.
[break][break]It all started when the firey red-head ran into the stubborn, yet deeply caring pokemon trainer. First, he stole her bike, destroyed it, and then he saved her life from her raging Gyrados. Since that time, Misty begun traveling with the courageous black-haired boy, and met a new friend along the way by the name of Brock. They conquered pokemon, Team Rocket, stopped the terrible experiments that were being done on pokemon -- including her own-- and did all sorts of things together, the three of them. At first, it was the debt to her grouchy gyarodos that she was after... but, she since soon noticed that she no longer cared about that, despite bringing it up from time to time. She noticed that the boy in the hat has become a little bit more than a friend to her. A best friend, despite their quarreling -- maybe even a crush, though of course, she would never dream of admitting it to him. [break][break]
They'd always chuckle at her for her fear of bug-type pokemon, and she'd always threaten to leave. She never could, though. Not really. She tried to teach her red-jacketed crush how to get pokemon to "surf", but ended up saving him from a dragonite instead. She traded him her gyarados, then challenged him to earn a cascade badge so he could one day defeat Team Rocket. And, even when she parted ways with him and their mutual rock trainer friend, she always found herself wondering what he was doing during her later gym battles and random travels. [break][break]
Her pondering became more perplexed in an encounter with professor Oak, who admitted that he had given the boy wonder's pokedex and pikachu to a complete stranger. Of course, that done nothing to soothe the firey-headed girl, and she took it upon herself to go look for the stranger herself so that she could give back to her friend what he seemed to have lost. Until -- of course -- she came across a strange phenomenon where a super nerd was being possessed by none other than a Gastly, and manage to thwart him off in order to get to her crush's pikachu and the blonde-headed stranger. The ghostly pokemon turned out to belong to none other than Agatha -- the creepy old hag from the Elite Four; who, somehow all had gotten into their heads that it was best to destroy humanity. Lorelei included. By the older woman's command, an army of Gastly and Haunter quickly invaded Cerulean City, and it took all the tomboyish had to defeat them. Once the battle subsided and she figured out that the Elite Four had been after her cascade badge, Misty gave the message for Starmie to deliver to Cerise Island as to warn the other gym leaders stationed there. It was only after this transcendence of events that Misty actually got to meet the light-haired boy named "Yellow", who -- surprisingly! -- was actually a girl who had disguised herself as a boy in order to look for Red. The water trainer gave the yellow girl an Omanyte for good luck, knowing that, as much as she wanted to go find her crush, to join the short stranger, that she had to stay behind in case there was another attack on her home. She watched as Yellow set out to finish the mission that the red-head had started, and prayed that everything would turn out okay. [break][break]
And, it did. Her boy in the cap was found. The "good" leaders had won, and humanity was soon saved, thanks to all of them working together. So, she continued what she did best -- battling trainers, collecting seashells, while dreaming about the day she would run into that red-jacketed idiot again. [break][break]
Her journey to compete in the tournament finally led her to Suicine while exploring and fishing around Tojo Falls -- a beautiful water-type legendary too elegant for words. Once the blue canine pokemon led her to a battle beneath the waterfall and saw that she was worthy, Suicune chose Misty as its partner, hoping that she could help defeat the Masked Man who had been after it. Upon entering the the Indigo Plateu, however, the fiesty tomboy and the rest of the gym leaders were ambushed by the Masked Man and his brain-washed Rocket grunts. They attempted to trap the Masked Man in Suicuine's crystal wall, but he broke free without a moment's notice, and "cursed" the water-type legendary with his Gastly. With Suicune too weak to fight, the Masked Man traps then traps the tomboyish mermaid in the crystal wall in the hopes that she will suffocate. Thankfully, a bow-tie wearing stranger by the name of "Eusine" had a clear bell, and was able to enter the Crystal Wall in order to rescue the weak Suicuine and suffocating Misty. The Masked Man, of course, took this opportunity to escape. Seeing that all of the gym leaders were too weak or in vulnerable conditions, Suicuine fled in order to chase after the Masked Man and to find a more suitable partner.
[break][break]
Seeing that the Masked Man got away, Misty used her poke-gear to report what had happened to Erika, hoping that she and the others would be able to catch and defeat him. Much to her surprise and secret delight, her hopeful trainer was the one who received her call. [break][break]
Misty hasn't heard nor seen from Red since then, but continues to venture out when she is not hosting Cerulean gym battles and runs into Erika, Brock, and Yellow periodically. It's been a year since the Masked Man, and things only seem to be getting more intense. Her goal has somewhat transitioned from being the best gym leader to defending the world, one evil threat at a time. And, something tells her another big battle has only just begun unraveling.
