despite her dislike of big cities, iris found herself growing rather fond of nimbasa in the past few years. there was never a dull moment there; she could go to the stadium to watch the athletes compete, or she could attend one of the many fashion shows, or she could even watch a musical! with everything to keep her entertained, she didn't mind being bumped into and jostled by the crowd quite so much.
she'd been getting to know white a bit better, too. iris had never had a good female friend before... at least, not a human one. black would get exasperated if she asked him to go shopping with her, but white was right there with her, trying on clothes and funny hats and having a good time.
they exited a store now, iris grinning her usual playful grin. "he acted like i couldn't see right through him," she joked. "oh, sorry guys, i can't go shopping with you, i've got some training to do!' you know, a dumb excuse like that." had his head in the clouds as always, she figured. but that was what they liked about black, so she couldn't complain too much, even if it meant he had less time to spend with them.

She has never really had female friends. Sure, she had acquaintances and all but her time has always been spent chasing after her dreams. The agency had been all she focused on for years and up until recently, it was the only thing she really cared about. Now? She actually has friends that she could count on for love and support. Black, Bianca, Cheren, her Pokemon... They prove to her every day that sometimes it's okay to let people in and to let your dreams take the backseat once in a while.[break][break]
This is why she finds herself in Nimbasa City, strolling through shops with a thousand watt smile plastered upon her lips. Truthfully it has been a while since she's been comfortable in a crowd, let alone comfortable within this city... Perhaps it is her company, however, that helps with the situation. A friend in the form of the bubbly and energetic Iris. If she is being honest, she never would have pictured becoming friends with a Champion of the Pokemon League a few years ago but now? She couldn't be happier to spend her days shopping until she dropped with the Dragon type trainer.[break][break]
White lets out an airy giggle as she sticks close to Iris' side, the duo leaving the comfort of a store to join the masses on the sidewalks of Nimbasa. Normally, she'd definitely be in a bit of a panic now what with all the people rushing about but something about having Iris with her is calming to the brunette. "Honestly, I can't even be surprised!" She snorts, returning Iris' grin with ease. "God forbid we want some quality time with him. He just runs right for the hills." In true Black fashion, he is always on the move, always training and keeping himself busy. He'd forget to eat if they didn't remind him to take breaks in between reaching closer and closer to achieving his dreams... Always focused and dedicated, something she really admires in the boy. He always pushes himself to do more, to be a better version of himself.[break][break]
"Maybe we can just bribe him with food," her tone is light and teasing as she tosses a wink toward her friend. "That seems to be his only motivator besides battling!" She couldn't really be one to talk, however, as she would do a lot of things for some amazing food. Her stomach grumbles just thinking about it and a faint blush dusts her cheeks as another laugh bubbles up from her throat. "I guess it happens to be mine, too!" Her eyes shift from Iris' face to the shops up ahead, already searching for a good restaurant they can stop in for some food and relaxation. They have been at it for hours, after all. Her feet are a little sore if she's being completely honest and right now, sitting and eating sounds more and more appealing by the minute. "Oooh, let's stop there!" She squeals out in excitement as a pizza place enters her line of sight. Without even waiting for an answer from her companion, she all but drags the girl by the hand closer and closer to the restaurant, her pace increasing once the delicious aroma enters her nostrils. Mmmm food!

before iris can even protest, white has whisked her off towards a pizza place. the smell is undeniably delicious, but as iris looks over the menu, she realizes that she has no idea what she wants to order. she's never been a particularly big eater, as she grew up being taught not to waste any food... and, well, the greasy, fried foods that unova was rather famous for just didn't suit her stomach.
still, she's not going to argue with white once she has her mind set on something. iris mulls over the menu until it's their turn to order. "hmnn... i kind of want meat lovers." she could share with her pokemon that way. they're all carnivores (or, in lapras's case, more of a pescatarian) with the only real exception being anna the aggron, who... eats iron and other metals. "or maybe pineapple?"
she sets her purchases down on one of the tables. "think they have a discount for champions?" iris jokes, though there's a glimmer in her eye. she can't deny she enjoys the attention at times.

The menu is vast before them and part of her almost regrets choosing a place with such a wide variety. Usually she sticks to restaurants she knows like the back of her hand, always ordering the same thing and never straying from the order of things. Today is a special occasion, however, as Iris is with her. The girl is fearless and fierce, everything White aspires to be, and she almost feels the need to show that she, too, is capable of such things. Going with the flow has never been easy for her. Everything needs to be organized and planned out or she can't function to her full capacity. She wouldn't go as far to say that disorganization causes her panic, but she also doesn't rule out the possibility.[break][break]
Iris' voice breaks through her train of thought and she tries to conceal her mild jump of surprise with tightening her signature ponytail. The Champion orders first, settling on two dishes of rather interesting choices, and soon it's her turn. Funny, she spent all that time inside her head and still hadn't come to a decision on what kind of pizza to order... Her eyes gloss over the menu once more and as she is about to just be ordinary and order a plain cheese pizza, she takes notice of a new addition to their already large menu. "Ooh, I'll have the mac n cheese pizza, please!" She has never thought of the combination before, although it sure sounds tasty. Besides she does have a rather large fondness for the cheesy pasta dish. Her mom always made the best homemade version too![break][break]
She follows Iris to a table with her hands full, plate in one hand and a small soda in the other. Within moments, the girl has her giggling yet again. "Honestly, they totally could!" She muses as she slides into her seat. "You didn't take advantage of that because...?" If she were talented enough to be a Champion, she'd surely enjoy the perks once in a while. Although part of her does wonder if the Champions of each region ever got tired of the gig, the eyes following their every move, the constant challenges from excited young trainers.[break][break]
White settles into silence as she begins to happily munch on her food. The previous regret from her decision to come to this restaurant for food is immediately replaced with pride. Her dish is amazing, super cheesy, and everything she could have ever wanted from mixing two of her favorite foods. "Mmm this is so good!" She mumbles between bites, blue eyes curiously traveling upward to meet Iris'. "How's yours?"

iris shrugs at the question, small smile on her face. "idunno," she replies. "just seems kinda dishonest. it's not like i can't afford to pay for it, after all." back in blackthorn, she'd never had to struggle to make ends meet financially. their town was small but strong, with quite the reputation thanks to its gym and its connection to the powerful dragon-type pokemon that resided there. that, and she was raised by the village elders. everyone there respected them, and they were able to live comfortably because of it.
in short: iris had never thought much about money.
she takes a bite of her pizza. it burns the roof of her mouth. "ah-- hot, hot--" she complains, almost fumbling it and making a face. once it cools down, she takes another bite. the greasy flavor fills her mouth, and her eyes light up.
"it's great!" with the seat she's taken, she can watch the passerbys through the window to the outside. as she eats, she keeps her eyes there, munching away happily. for a little while, everything is calm and quiet.
then she stands up so fast her chair falls backwards, clattering to the floor behind her. iris points to the outside, her maroon eyes wide in shock and... is that a trace of anger?
"HIM!"

[attr="class","tctext"] It's a pleasant day, but N finds it hard to enjoy. The recent news from Saffron City is still weighing heavily on his mind as he walks the streets of Nimbasa. A Pidove on his shoulder tries to comfort him. "I know..." he sighs. "There's nothing I could have done and nothing I can do, but I just... hate feeling so powerless..."
When an egg gets snatched, the Pidove says, every bird mourns. But all we can do is keep our own nests safe. Maybe you should just try to worry about your own nest. Hm. What even is his 'nest'? Lostlorn Forest? Nimbasa? Unova as a whole?
"I'm not sure I could even do that anymore. Maybe I got too used to having Team Plasma behind me, then Zekrom on my side. It's... strange, being all alone." He knows there's a solution to that, but he doesn't want to admit it. "Besides," he changes the subject. "Predators have to eat, too. But no one had to attack a whole city like this. There was no reason for it except greed and corruption..." He frowns deeply, and the Pidove lets out a little sighing coo, unsure what to say.
Suddenly, a shout from inside a nearby building rings out loud enough and near enough to the window that N and his new friend hear it, and Pidove startles a bit, flying up to the edge of the roof. Sounds like you've got company! she shouts. I'll watch from up here.
N's gaze follows her first, and squints a moment at her abandonment, but then trails down to the window. What company? Oh-- oh shoot! That's the little dragon girl. He considers high-tailing it out of here before she can get outside, but then sees who she's with and stops again. White... It's been so long. He should really still leave; he knows this. But he can't quite bring himself to. Deep down, his desire to see how Black and White have been outweighs his feeling that he doesn't deserve to know. He shifts to face them, raises one hand in an awkward wave, and waits to see what the girls will do.

She offers a small smile in between bites, nodding in agreement with Iris. She's right of course, as she usually is, in the sense that it would be rather dishonest. Money makes the world go 'round and if everyone used their status to get free things she isn't sure the economy would survive very long. Still, a Champion discount must be nice![break][break]
The brunette lets silence fall around them after a gentle "Good, I'm glad you like it!" escapes from her lips. The silence is nice, easy, full of soft chewing sounds. She decides right then and there that she needs to schedule more girl time with Iris. Her company is comforting and almost reminds White of how easy it is to be around friends. Funny enough, she almost reminds the pokedex holder of Black in that sense. It certainly is understandable how the two are such good friends...[break][break]
Before she can dive into thoughts about Black (again...), Iris' voice cuts through her thoughts and she pauses from another bit of food to glance up at the girl. The chair clatters to the floor and she stares with wide blue eyes and an o shape of her lips. In that moment, White is a picture of confusion. When she goes to question the girl, ask who she's shouting at, why she's angry, she pauses and follows the girl's pointed finger instead.[break][break]
Oh. That makes sense.[break][break]
Up and out of her seat and all but sprinting outside with anger rising like hot air trying to escape, White doesn't even stop the words that come tumbling from her mouth. "What the hell are you doing here?" The snarl is harsh and she flinches from her tone but that doesn't stop the onslaught of verbal abuse that is hurling N's way. "You have some nerve showing your face here. I don't care if you helped me find Black again or if Gigi came back after you released her. I don't like you, I won't even pretend to." Her eyes narrow and she attempts to put on her meanest, most disappointed face (even if it only looks like a cute angry puppy). "Go back to whatever hole you crawled out of. We don't want you here."[break][break]
Part of her knows she's being too mean, too cruel, to the man who helped her save her best friend but right now, she is fueled by anger. Anger from what he's done, anger for taking Gigi away from her, anger that isn't even fully directed at him. She's angry with herself for letting all of it happen but it's easier to pass that off onto him. In the furthest reaches of her mind, she is grateful to him but that part of her is not in control now and she knows she'll never voice a thank you for helping her become stronger or for returning Black home. White crosses her arms over her chest, lets out a frustrated huff, and glances at Iris for back-up, knowing the girl certainly isn't very fond of the man either.
