An echo of a memory resonated as Quill awakened from a dream. Hir own child clung to hir thin frame. How long had it been, ze asked, trying to remember the faces of hir parents. The sound from their laughter brought an aching to Quill’s chest. Quill caresses the child’s face as ze slept. Never would sie have thought sie would be taking responsibility for a little one. Quill had not planned to raise children even though sie favored them over grown adults. She planned to raise pokemon. The child stirred while he slept, snuggling closer into the crook of hir arm. How long ago was it when ze was the age this child is now? It was a forgotten memory; a memory ze was glad to forget. Quinn, ze said in hir mind, that person is no more. Quinn was born the third child and the youngest in hir family. Hir parents, a father and a mother, were loving guardians. Be this true, they were rather careless and young parents. Love does not conquer all in this tragic tale. Little did they know a trek with siblings would separate Quinn from everything ze ever knew. It stormed on their hike back home from the city. You see they had little money so transportation was always on foot. Quinn was a young five year old and kept up with hir siblings for the most part. They were on their way back to their home as their house was far away from civilization. Because of poverty thier home is an unfamiliar region devoid of Pokémon. A pokemon sighting was a rare occurance around thier living area. The eldest sibling, nine years hir senior, made a crucial mistake and lead them down a dangerous path back to their house. A tree had fallen down from a forest fire and blocked the way as well as injured Quinn's left leg. The middle child, five years hir senior, suggested they go back the way they came but the eldest suggested they cross the river to save time. Neither sibling wanted to move Quinn from the area in fear of harming hir any further so they left hir there to fetch their parents. During this time it was a rainy sundown, the sky alit with fire while lightning flashed through what clouds were left over from the storm. Quinn's eyes also rained. Tears flooded hir eyes, vision ablur. Under the fallen tree, leg caught benieth. The tree alight with flames burned the time away. How long had it been? To the timezone of a five year old, it seemed like an eternity hir siblings had left hir to send for help. Only when they had fled did she wail her sarrows. Hir left leg she could not move, though this was not on her mind as hir pain and lonliness became her source of fear and abandonment.[break][break] As sie wiped her face and tried to stay strong after hir outburst, a yellow blur came into sight and it was no lightning. Qinn screamed. To see such a strange creature anywhere close to hir as sie was not used to such things gave hir fright. The pokemon came to observe the human's situation and as it got closer and the child let out a beautiful vocal sound and it became startled and teleported, but by accident took the child with it. Quinn had not known what happened nor could her five year old mind comprehend the physics of teleportatoin. Sie had third degree burns and what water that trailed down hir leg cooled it only for a moment. In a blink of an eye the rain was gone and so was the forest and the fire replaced by grasslands and a large river.[break][break] Quinn stared into the creatures eyes. The wide eyes were dark brown with gold flecks and the it stared back inquisitively and equailly puzzled. After some time, the silence between the two became something they became accustome and there the two bonded in that moment, but there was a problem. Quinn's leg was still hurt pretty badly and if not treated it would most likely become infected. The yellow and brown pokemon observed the wound with intellegence and then stared back at the human child.[break][break] 'STAY,' a female voice sounded in her mind and ze gave a jump. Not wanting to upset the creature Qinn did as sie was told and not long after the departure a large pink pudgy pokemon emerged. This pink pudgy creature quickly surrounded the child and planced pressure and water on the burn that spread from the knee down to Quinn's ankle. The burning sensation stopped in hir amazment, but a darkened scar remained.[break][break] A female voice sounded in hir mind 'NAME?'.[break][break] Quinn hesitated, and then spoke with a soft voice of the melodic scream from before, "Quinn Lyre." One thing to know about Quinn is that ze has a vivid imagination and it did not pass hir by that creatures could talk just like humans, but the fact that the Abra did not move it's mouth puzzled hir. Ze was frightened by it and hir hand gripped tighter an item she had long forgotten about: a lyre that her father crafted. The Abra knew well, this item and thought for a moment staring lost in thought at the dark scar that marred hir left leg.[break][break] 'Quill,' the Abra said soothingly to the child[break][break] "No, K-w-i-h-n," she corrected sounding out her name.[break][break] 'Quill.' The voice sounded again in her mind as the abra stared determined when it gave off its own vocal sound.[break][break] "Fine, then you are," ze paused,"...Kashi," Quill retorted, "because you shine."[break][break] The abra seemed happy and teleported a short distance to show off and then appeared by hir side. 'Kashi!' It made Quill laugh despite the cercumstances. This would be their first fight and an ongoing one until age seven where Qinn came to love the name Quill after accepting she would never see her family again. One out of many arguments in a span of ten years, each year becoming more and more in depth conversation. Kashi learned from the five year old's speech and lucky for Quill, sie had quite the vocabulary. By age fourteen hir hair is matted into dreads as far as appeariance ze seemed very rough and down to earth. Quill became a wild child, raised by Kashi abtained her first pokemon egg which turned out to be a munchlax named Gonbe. Between fourteen and seventeen Quill exposed hirself to the outside world of people and still prefered living the way sie has been traveling with Kashi, no person knowing her for too long. Around seventeen, she found a child who was abandoned in a basket along with a Mantyke which gaurded the baby boy. Sie kept the child and his pokemon in hopes of a better future.
