01 synchroncity WITH ONE BREATH, WITH ONE FLOW
Celadon City, the place to be. The place to become rich, to get a new gym badge, to get new Pokemon even. It would only stand to reason that it was a place to find a challenge. Kaida herself lingered in the Game Corner, eyes flickering as she wasted some of her time, at least until the afternoon. She could be alone like this, she wasn't quite known, so nobody actually tried to interrupt her, leaving her free to swing to her feet and head towards the Celeron Hotel.
The busy streets were all streaming people towards their homes, the routes, or into the Hotel. And by the looks of it, Trainers were among the crowds. Perfect. She had only found herself in a city to participate in a true battle.
"Hey. Hey. Hey, you." Maybe there was a problem in not being too well known, she didn't think someone like a gym leader would be ignored in such a way.
Finally, she concluded she ran out of options and darted towards a person, and would grab at them if they tried to ignore her. "Hey, you. I'm looking for a battle. Do you want to?" She could only hope the person liked a challenge too.

Falling through the cracks...
--------------------------------------------- Tagging: @kaida Word Count: 674 Now Listening To: Pretty Lil' Thoughts: Loser coughs up the bread! Sweet-sweet, bread!~ --------------------------------------------- Everyone knew the rules.
It would happen the moment that he would spin around and see this person. He himself had not just gotten the chance to get back into Celeadon City after a trip out of town. His body was cloaked in one of the newest fashions from Ecruteak City, specifically since it would get chaotic soon. Orchidaceae's mind was flooding with a million thoughts. All of them equated to something depressing with not a shred of hope. Even his trip to the Game Corner had not cheered him up as he would take a walk down to the basement area that was under construction.
A future project he had to work on with certain cohorts.
Another thought to the million, he would leave the basement after a while to go to his room and prepare. The streets were busy and bustling just like the years he remembered when he had left this place. Nostalgia washing over him and carrying him away in a hopeless tide. Sapphire eyes would be looking to and fro as the waves of laughter, joy, and delusional images of a happy family had overcome him. Phantoms that would seep into his memory, as well as a dysfunction of scents that he would catch. Some of them sweet as Celadon City's famed fragrances would be pushed through the streets to stock up at the local vendors. Other times, he would smell a horrid scent and look around to see the local Gym Leader who was arranging flowers to catch the attention of her Vileplume who wondered off.
And as usual, he would be too nervous to approach...
But his eyes would catch...well...something else. It was loud! Sudden! His body would whisk around as the flowery boy would let his blue irises rest upon that of the young woman who spun him around. He would have noticed her shape, skin color, or even her lips. However, as a trainer, the number one rule came first as he would lock them with her eyes before anything else.
TRIGGER: Total Shock & Awe "D-did...did our eye just meet?! Damn it!" It was time for a battle.
If not by the law of the land, but by the very fact that the woman had addressed him in public. Plus, he had to save face considering that he knew that there was probably certain "figures" watching.
"Here? N-now?" The violet haired boy's eyes would slide as if he had been nothing short of fatigued. A dispirited breath would leave his lips."...O-okay."
He would spin on his heel gracefully as the colorful open sleeves of his kimono would fly open. The Ofurisode style was his usual adored fashion as he had chosen white today. The colorful flower in his head almost made him stand out to be a Shaymin had it not been for the colorful violet hair and the pattern running across his clothing as the way the skirt moved at his waist made it seem as if blades of grass were blowing in a breeze.
He was not all show. His dance would allow him to reach and pull from his belongings a single Pokeball from his chest pocket sleeve. With a simple push of the thumb, it would expand. "But to warn you, I do not want money to give you if I lose, so-" he would show a gentle smile on his face, "The loser must buy me Melon Pan...please?~"
By some miracle, the boy's sad face would light up thinking about the pastry.
...falling down into the darkness.

Kaida sighed in relief as the stranger agreed, having expected that certain strategy to have gotten her an ugly look and nothing more. "Thank you...I simply want a real fight for some of my Pokemon. Only one or two, if that's fine." Drake and Zel had no reason to fight her, she knew, and Hunter or Sandy were very young to participate unless they wanted. She looked about herself, and grimaced, "Tch! I didn't think a crowd would form!" Eyes stared upon the two, and didn't falter even at her comment. She wasn't getting rid of them, was she? She didn't like the attention, and she doubted her new battle partner did, so she relented to the conditions with a quick, "Win or lose, I will give you that melon pan."
It was only fair, wasn't it?
She held up two Pokeballs, their translucent tops revealing brief sightings of a Scyther and Pyroar within. "Queen." The Pokeball twitched in her hand in excitement, so be it. Neither Queen or Rhea, strong as they were, had true ba battles against anything other than wild Pokemon.
Kaida threw her Pokeball first, thinking it only fair as the challenger. The light faded to reveal a great Scyther, clicking her claws together and shaking out wings that showed signs of past battles. Clearly a beast that thrived on challenges. "Say your hellos, Queen." Kaida's voice rose slightly in her own excitement, "This is our opponent." Queen glared forward, and leaned down, claws forward, and hissed.

Falling through the cracks...
--------------------------------------------- Tagging: @kaida Word Count: 669 Now Listening To: N/A Pretty Lil' Thoughts: Dance lesson! --------------------------------------------- Real? That was a puzzling statement.
The way the violet haired child would tilt his head was almost reminiscent of how an owl would when curious. "A real fight?" His lips would drip with the words and hang. For all he knew, he was not even sure if he could give such a thing. After all, he was mediocre at best for reasons. A wrinkled smile came across his fight that would have made anyone question if they had made a terrible mistake or judgment about the first person they would come across.
"W-well...I guess-"
The boy would freeze as he noticed that the footsteps from around him were growing louder. The sound of the voices were more audible. Utters and whispers would turn into casual laughter and grins as people seemed to point and gesture. Already, many would seem to gravitate around as if animals that felt the change of a season. They sensed that a Pokemon battle was on the way.
"Celadon City does not change."
A hint of nostalgia carried the boy off to another world. He would think about how many trainers would have this experience. He could picture a young violet haired boy in the crowd along with his blue eyes looking on wondrously what was about to unfold. The young woman's words jerking him back as a weak smile would creep across his face. A sense of melancholy overtaking him as he would nod his head in acknowledgement that no matter the result, he would have his favorite sweet.
The toss of a Pokeball would call fourth the Pokemon that was within. The Scyther, appropriately named Queen, would assert itself in what was probably a greeting to Orchid as an opponent. The blue orbs would reflect the claws more than anything, one of the Bug-Type Pokemon's greatest features that allowed for a lot of its attacks. Orchid's broken smile would seem embarrassed as his cheeks flared red.
"W-well...it seems as thought my team is already at a disadvantage."
The boy would comment, his hand still holding on to the ball in his grasp. he would give it one more glance as if hesitant, but he would not waste another moment. A certain flare as the young boy would take a step forward, carrying the ball underhand as he would spin on his heel while his other foot would step forth. With a twist of his waist, he would whip the ball outward in an elegant dancing manner.
"Dance, Sweety-chan!~"
His voice would sing as the ball would burst open with a bright flash of white. The unstable form would start to shape itself to a feminine figure that was three-fifths the height of the five foot trainer. Long greenery that seemed to appear as hair, and a head adorned by what almost seemed like a crown. Overall, the trainers seemed to know a Grass-Pokemon in the town when they seen one, even if foreign, and right away an adult would answer a child exclaiming that it was a Tsareena.
Even as the Pokemon emerged, it seemed to have a familiar flourish. It danced on the tips of its strange appendages for feet. Its legs swaying and bending before it would make a steadfast stand as if to stop its spin. The Pokemon would plant itself with its hands by its side and its eyes bright and jolly as it seemed happy to be out in the ball, regardless of the sight of the large mantis Pokemon that was before it. With a glance.
"Please, be free to start." Orchid offered to the young woman. "You lead and we will follow." The Tsareena would look back at its trainer if only for a moment happily as she placed her hands together. She almost seemed to treat it as a playful moment instead of a battle, one that Orchid sympathize with since it was not a usual moment where they would get to have battles like this.
So tranquil and nothing to lose.
...falling down into the darkness.

"Yes, real." Kaida confirmed, "Fights with another trainer are different from wild Pokemon, I'd rather they learn before a tournament." She and her team were making their way to a tournament, stopping in cities along the way to practice. As her words ended, she took out another Pokeball, and released an Ekans before the battle began, "Try to learn, Hunter." She ordered before turning her attention to her opponent.
"Be careful, Queen." She voiced her concerns, getting a dismissive wave for her trouble. She needed to say it, disadvantaged or not, a battle was still a battle, "Quick Attack." She almost mumbled, following up with a shrill whistle. The noise seemed to launch Queen forward, eyes locked on this "Sweety". Her wings buzzed as she came off the ground, leaving her to shift in mid-air and thrust her claws at her opponent, once, twice, and she retreated, cautious and careful.

--------------------------------------------- Tagging: @kaida Word Count: 429 Now Listening To: N/A Pretty Lil' Thoughts: Get Ova' here! --------------------------------------------- Then real it shall be.
Orchid would give a decisive nod of the head as he would hear her. Even more touching, he would witness her. It was difficult to see a genuine trainer these days. The sight of the young woman unleashing the snake Pokemon from his Pokeball would cause for her him to feel nothing short of sentiment. A touching gesture as she absolutely cared to have her Pokemon watch and stand by her side. All sorts of movement, no matter how large or small from the woman, would wash him in waves of nostalgia seeing such innocent ways.
Before he knew it, the battle was on. The young woman's words were uttered as if they were sharp and decisive as the very blades the Scyther wielded upon her arms. There was also the gleam in Orchid's eyes that would come seeing the Pokemon zip forth and close in. The Tsareena's glance would go from casual and carefree to resolute. Her rounded head would pick up as if she was tilted her chin, and her right foot would suddenly lift. A sound drop of her foot would slam upon the ground and send an echo that was loud like a thunderbolt's crash.
It was her Queenly Majesty.
"Dance! Ensnare with Power Whip!"
The Tsareena's right hand would sweep back as digits would extend to the back of her head. Pulled from the long appendages of greenery and shrubs would be a long single green cord. The leaves and running thorns would make it apparent that it was a vine the moment she would snatch it quickly. The size was twice as long as she was tall, and would be handled with the utmost grace as she would kick back once as the Scyther would thrust. Her left side feeling a mere cut from the slice. The second would be met with air as the Tsareena would be careful this time. Her footing more elegant than before as she would spin on what would be her heel and evade. The vine she had would move in a snake like manner with her own hands as it would be around her, but-
"Tsareena! Tighten your whip!"
SNAP!!! The long green vine would be pulled tightly attempting to claim what it was attempting to ensnare. The vine that was weaved around like a ribbon while she was evading and dancing was moved in a loop as the Tsareena would dance with her arms as well as her hands. She hoped to ensnare the Scyther's most dangerous weapons: its blade-like appendages!

01 synchroncity WITH ONE BREATH, WITH ONE FLOW
Kaida tilted her head as Queen seemed incapable of striking true with her blades, always shrinking back at the last moment, and then retreating at the worst moment. The Power Whip wrapped around one of her blades, and Queen's wings emanated an angry buzzing as she tried to pull away, her thick carparace crackling under the tightening pressure. Kaida felt a presence at her leg, Hunter clinging to her like a lost child as injury seemed inevitable for the Scyther.
Kaida faltered briefly, watching for a moment as Queen thrashed and pulled to no effect, starting a high-pitched shriek, and spoke. "Your arm is trapped and you can't escape." It was almost like a statement, and she growled as Queen refused to do anything but try and free her arm, intent on using the first weapons that came to mind, her blades "What are you waiting for!? Use something else, Wing Attack!" For a second, she thought Queen might disobey and continue her ill-advised thrashing, as her glare shifted to Kaida, but she suddenly threw herself at the Tsareena.
The buzzing increased into a harsh buzz, and flapped in a manner unfit to fly, but perfect to attack into front. She would press the attack, refusing to stay away until her arms were free. "See, Hunter? If you got ideas to attack when trapped, do it...don't get hurt waiting for me." She explained to the Ekans as the battle raged on, keeping an eye on the proceedings but not truly trying to keep up with Queen's movements. She was so fast, until she took a hit or got stuck, she'd do what she wanted, so this was a good time to explain to the Ekans. In general, a battle was very quick, and the human wasn't truly participating beyond strategies...to Kaida, it was up to the Pokemon to think as well, to know what they could do even before a human barked an order. Queen...would get better, once she got less simplistic...

Falling through the cracks...
--------------------------------------------- Tagging: @kaida Word Count: 444 Now Listening To: N/A Pretty Lil' Thoughts: None! --------------------------------------------- Orchid was impressed.
He could see how the Pokemon and the trainer were so much alike. That same energy that she used to whip him around and challenge him to a battle was reflective to almost how the Scyther acted. It was simplistic and straightforward, something the young boy did not get to see as much in a carefree battle. This girl was causing him to get lost in an ocean worth of memories that were crystal clear when it reminded him of movements he made and was scolded about. It was that moment that caused a slight hesitation, one that Tsareena picked up on.
A cry of the fruit Pokemon's voice and a turn of its head would cause Orchid to wince at that moment. The battle was still raging on and his Pokemon was in a desperate situation since she had been successful in ensnaring the mantis, but not wrangling it in. It was left with very limited options as the Scyther charged in with its wings.
"Evade left!"
The violet haired boy would watch as the Tsareena would once again resort to its elegant movements, it's body turning left with a twist...or at least it tried. The Pokemon would halt at that moment as its eyes shot close tightly as if suddenly cloaked in a veil of pain. Orchid would gasp as he would recall the first opening strike the Mantis Pokemon had made that left a mere scrape.
"She has been cut..."
The Tsareena would be knocked off her feet, her body carrying her across the terrain as she was sent for a tumble. Orchid would click his teeth as he could hear a million gasps at his back. The crowd of people were right although no one said a word: he had to do something. "Tsareena! Pull your whip!" The Pokemon would roll about before finally she would reach her hand out and once again snatch the vine. Her balance resorted as her powerful legs would stamp into the terrain and her eyes would open narrowly showing she was a bit of pain. The Scyther's impact was nothing short of super effective.
"Use your Acrobatics!"
The Tsareena, after regaining its balance would toss the vine that entangled the Scyther. It had done its purpose for this exact moment. The Grass Pokemon would jump up and rush forth. When speed was picked up, it would flip forth from feet to hands, to back again, and again as she would pick up momentum. She would kick off the terrain picking up the momentum and dove towards the Scyther from the air with a diving kick almost resembling a diving bird.
...falling down into the darkness.

Queen, stubbornness apparent in her eyes as she raised a free scythe defiantly towards her attacker, trying to leap at her with dangerous intent...and failed. Her strength and speed couldn't do very much against a move so effective, and impact hit her right on her chest. Crashing against the ground, an audience member letting out a cut off help at the scene, it was clear damage was done, severe enough damage to put down a weaker Pokemon...but not this one, not yet.
Queen was back in long lost days of the forest, but those frantic fights were one-on-one, without a human voice dictating the enemy, and she hissed once more...not at the Pokemon, but the human. If only-"Queen! On the fight, now!" Seemed her own human grasped her ideas, fine then.
Fury Cutter
In seconds, Queen lunged forward again, heedless of the way her carparace shifted suggested injury. Her claws gleaned a brief gleam, and she swung her unrestrained arm furiously. From her vantage point, Kaida couldn't even grasp there was movement, even restricted, Queen was a force to be reckoned with as she slashed upwards to four times, showing no sign of letting up.

--------------------------------------------- Tagging: @kaida Word Count: 339 Now Listening To: N/A Pretty Lil' Thoughts: N/A --------------------------------------------- The battle was clearly not over.
Not by a long shot had the attack been enough to stop the Scyther. To say that it shocked Orchid would be an understatement. The violet haired boy's eyes would perk up in sheer shock just seeing the Pokemon suddenly rise once again to the occasion. It bore its sword-like appendages, causing Orchid to gasp in realization that with that previous move, Tsareena had been placed in a terrible position that he did not think about.
"She is in close-range."
The Tsareena would stood up, attempting to turn around and stand her ground. Even if she was quite the fighter, the Grass-type Pokemon was not a fighting-type. Hand to hand combat was far beneath her as her legs were her strong point. One that he would try to take advantage of. "Sweety-chan! Sway!" A simple command that was between the two. The Grass-type would know how to do so after hearing the dance moves that were signature to herself and her trainer.
The violet-haired boy would watch as the grass-type Pokemon would sweep its leg back to dance, evading the first move. The next would not be so easy as the Tsareena would wince again once more. The slash that began the entire match throwing it off balance as Orchid could see its biggest weakness then. The Pokemon would not be so fortunate as the next swipe would cut at its body causing a faltering step back, the next almost a tumble with how it was thrown aback, and then finally there was the final strike that would send the Pokemon falling over and collapsing to the ground with an impact. Its back would pound the dirt as its eyes would close shut from the final strike.
"Sweety-chan..."
a sadness radiating from the boy seeing the Pokemon fall, but a smile would grace his face almost in a gentle manner. Seeing her laid out reminded him of her being a Bounsweet all over again.
With that. Now he knew the battle was over.

Kaida couldn't help but feel a thrill of pride as Queen's attack struck true...and she won. Queen shrieked in victory, and then immediately fell to her knees, looking over to Kaida with a proud grin even as she couldn't find the strength to stand. "Never should've been scared, you're amazing." Kaida grinned back, and Queen lowered her head, closing her eyes until Kaida returned her to her Pokeball.
Hunter watched with wide-eyes, not quite knowing how to react to the spectacles he had witnessed, but his heart was pounding. Kaida didn't try to explain, reasoning one battle witnessed wasn't enough to try and tell the Ekans how this all worked. He needed time first.
Second.
Her second Pokeball cracked open, and a fiery length of fur drew admiration from the crowd. A male Pyroar was more impressive with his mane, but Rhea was still a sight to see. In stark contrast to Queen, she blinked gently as Kaida's new sparring partner, looking for all the world like a smiling grandmother. "This is Rhea, do you want to keep going?" Kaida both introduced and asked, walking forward and leaving Hunter at her place to let Rhea fondly on the head, "She's kind, but she is strong."

The words would bring a look to the boy's face as if he had been astonished by a Ghost-type. His lips parted to show his teeth that would join in for a smile after he would relax himself. He had not seen the lion for what it was worth at that moment as he was busy looking upon the young woman who described it. Orchid would be reaching into his kimono slowly as the ball he had tucked away a moment ago was revealed once again. With a lift and a press, the ball would call forth a beam of light that would race and strike the Tsareena's head and collect it from the battlefield.
"Kind and strong, yes?" He would repeat as the ball would open and clasp shut. The other hand was reaching to his kimono as he would hold Tsareena's ball. "In that case, this next Pokemon will be perfect for her to meet."
Whatever he was thinking, it was not apparent as the boy would keep shifting through the whirlwind of emotions he was feeling. He could not remember the last time he would have fun. He forgot the audience completely. The noise of the shifting crowd nothing but a breeze to his ears as he would step on his right foot while twisting. His body whipping around in a flourish as he would cast the ball out in his graceful two-step dance.
"Perform, BunBun-chan!"
The ball would burst open as the light would stream skyward. Whatever formed would come out of the exploding ball with a spinning motion. Rapidly big fluffy brown appendages were like wings as they would beat the air. Tufts of fur on wrists and ankles would cross along her body as she bent her form and tilted her rotation. As she would land, she would do so with grace as the figure would spread out her arms and slowly open her eyes. The red irises would set upon the lion as she seemed innocent. A smirk would come across the Lopunny's face that would appear.
The way she looked, getting into fighting form as she would square her body, the crowd would probably thinking that the rabbit would be prey to the lion, but the Lopunny's expression would say the opposite.

"A good combination." Kaida mumbled, a kind Pokemon wouldn't try to get into fights, but a strong one could win unavoidable fights. Rhea certainly was a good personality.
Indeed, Lopunny's appearance drew a tilted head from Rhea, and she let out a greeting rumble. "You can handle this?" Kaida asked, and the warning rumble turned straight into a true growl. Looked like Rivalry was activating. Quickly, Kaida backed away, and looked to her opponent. "Go ahead. You take the first strike."

It only took a breath and a nod, but Orchid would no longer hesitate to take the woman upon her offer. Just one glance a the Lopunny, the young boy knew that it was ready to put on its usual show. As if they had rehearsed a hundred performances like before, Orchid would raise his hand as if casting off a weight. The other one would lift and gesture towards the lioness that was across from them. With the target in his sights, the Lopunny would lift her hands as if finding synchronicity to move while the young flower child would. It was only proper given the time they spent together.
"Go now, BunBun! Quick Attack!"
The command would cause the Lopunny to glow a bright white as its body raced with energy. Fearlessly, she would dart forth, but in the most swift and unique patterns that would make a coordinator wonder. The white light that followed its body as it would race across the field would zigzag left and right. The sight of the Lopunny vanished as speed was shown to be its forte in this case. The dirt would rise in small explosive columns as they drew closer to the lion until finally the Lopunny's form was flying forth with the image of her body being like a phantom when it would finally draw close.
The crowd would gasp seeing the tenacious rabbit Pokemon dive forth and with such bravado. It was clear then that the Grass-Type Pokemon was not the boy's ace compared to the rabbit Pokemon who was moving, showing that there were countless cycles of the sun and moon taking turns to oversee her training. The Pokemon, confident beyond the reach of the thought of losing, had nothing short of a sassy grin upon her face as her legs flew forth after making one final kick to the left flank to stand for only a second at the Lion Pokemon's side. It spun on its furry foot before kicking off and tossing its shoulder forth aiming to crash into the left side of the Pokemon.

"Rhea!" Kaida barked as the attack came screaming at the Pyroar, and her head jerked about as she tried to keep up with the movements, suddenly darting forward a second too late. Her hinds were hit by the Quick Attack, sending her rolling before letting out a devastatingly loud roar.
Echoed Voice
The air seemed to shake at the sound, and it echoed off the walls, primarily heading right towards the Lopunny. Kaida swung her arm as the attack was launched, and Rhea responded with far more discipline, leaping back a few times until she was close to the center of the make-shift arena. In terms of attacks, she had better odds attacking from far away, Kaida knew.
