A sudden surprise!
Even as the lioness seemed to suffer from the attack, she was not helpless! This was apparent the moment the maw of her mouth had ripped open. It was not so much of a cry of pain as it was a counterattack. The Lopunny's eyes would open, and her movements would be limited from such a close ranged attack. They would whip up, guarding her face from the shock of the attack. The sound ripping past her and even scouring the dust and ripping at the makeshift battlefield. Only when Orchid's kimono would wildly beat the air, mimicking the sound of feathers beating, that he would realize that Lopunny was in danger.
"BunBun-chan!"
Orchid had an annoying cry to the rabbit Pokemon! He knew this. She was the sassy type who answered simply because she would ease his trivial concern at times. However, this did not happen. Her head was shaking wildly as her large lop ears were tossing to and fro. The red eyes of the rabbit would lift as they were narrowed meekly as if she was still suffering from something. Repetitive, she would reach her fluffy little wrists up, brushing at the ears as if they were large locks of hair that were frustrating her.
"...she is having trouble hearing me."
A rabbit with such large ears and a lion with such a powerful voice? Of course she was having trouble trying to listen! The rabbit Pokemon was agitated and was looking to and fro. For a Pokemon and her team that was so focused on rhythm and movement, she was indeed in trouble. Orchid's lips were pressing tightly together before they would fold for him to fight in a show of concern. The battle seeming to become more challenging than even he would have expected..
